The Climate Ferry is an event and exhibition designed on the historic Pasabahçe Ferry at the request of 350.org Climate Association and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culture Inc. within the scope of the Global Climate Action Day. After the opening, the exhibition continued during Princes' Islands lines for one week.
When 350.org approached me to collaborate on the Istanbul leg of the Global Climate Action Day, we, along with other stakeholders, decided to host the exhibition and events on the historic Paşabahçe Ferry. The Paşabahçe Ferry holds significant importance in Istanbul's urban memory. Besides its spatial impressiveness, designing the exhibition posed challenges such as working within a historic ferry, ensuring durability in a public space, and not disrupting the ferry's navigations.
The exhibition design details were carefully considered to avoid any permanent alterations to the ferry, ensure the safety of visitors and passengers, and not interfere with circulation.
Hanging-Stretch Systems, Strong Magnets, and Glass Foil Applications have been preferred throughout the exhibition. These methods provide effective solutions for flexibility in temporary exhibitions and events while preserving the uniqueness of the space and enhancing the user experience.

Due to the historic nature of the ferry, making a permanent intervention in the space was not possible. Placing the information panels on a movable surface could pose safety issues for passengers during trips.

Therefore, we applied all informational content to the glass using window foil cutting. This way, passengers could read the information against the backdrop of the Istanbul skyline during the journey. By preserving the awareness of being in the Bosphorus, information was provided with minimal intervention to the ferry, while also creating an enjoyable informational interface for passengers.
